Tons more baby news... needless to say, I'm quite excited!

Noel Gallagher has admitted he burst into tears when his wife, Meg Matthews, gave birth to their first child on Thursday. Listen to an interview with a happy dad from Radio One.

The baby's name is Anaïs - Noel pronounces it with a hard "s" although I'm assuming that is due to his Manchester accent where silent "s"s are hard - I am sure Meg probably says it with a silent "s". (A-nay) The baby was named after the author Anaïs Nin. Nin wrote early feminist work The Delta Of Venus but is probably most famous for her diaries and the erotic letters she wrote to her lover, author Henry Miller.

Here's what Noel had to say about the weight of the baby. "(She was) seven pounds six. Which is really cheap, apparently, for a new born baby. Apparently, in Morrocco they go for at least 12 hundred quid." He has also told how he was looking forward to fatherhood though he was concerned that the actual birth may resemble "Exorcist material". And finally, on Meg's progress, Noel said this. "She looks fantastic - she doesn't even look like she's had a baby. It's just like she has been shopping." At least fatherhood has not taken the comedian out of our old Noel.

All right, baby!

This afternoon at 1:17 PM, Meg had a baby girl named Anaïs! Everything went well I am pleased to hear.

Don't have much time to write a lengthy update of this but I'll link you to the full story at Dotmusic.

Good thing he didn't name her Fanny after all... (Btw, for those of you who don't know, the word "fanny" refers not to an arse as it does it North America, but rather a more intimate part of the female anatomy - hence the joke...)

Here are the details for the Oasis session on Radio One where they will perform "My Generation". It will be broadcast across Lamacq Live (8pm-midnight on Mondays) and The Evening Session (8pm-10pm Tues, Wed, Thurs) beginning Monday 7th February. All times are GMT.

Visit this page for some more information and pictures from the session and here for the Radio One mainpage. You can hear the webcast of the radio station by clicking on the button that looks like this near the top of the page under the title.

There is also a new poll to check out - wanted to do this one before the truth (if there is any) is out there. LOL. Quite surprised by the amount of votes for Noel not going solo at all on the last one. 25% of the voters said he should stick with Oasis rather than releasing anything solo. You can view the final results here.

Okay... now there is something worth waiting for. Go to the Oasis module under "Audio" to hear "As Long As They've Got Cigarettes In Hell" which is a b-side. Visit "Video" to see/hear an interview with Noel, Liam AND Mark "Spike" Stent (right). It's certainly longer but quality isn't that great - worth taking a look at, anyway.

And this just disturbs me beyond belief.

January 22/2000

It is the 22nd. There is an interview on the Oasis module under "video". It is 10 seconds long, it is with Noel and it really wasn't worth waiting for. End rant.

Here is something, however, that I am quite pleased to hear. It was in the tabloid press however I am certain there is some truth to it.

Former Oasis guitarist 'Bonehead' is working on solo material with producer Owen Morris. The pair are currently recording at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Gwent with a Welsh vocalist. Morris is famed for his work producing all of the Oasis albums to date.

Talking to The Sun, a source close to guitarist states 'Bonehead helped craft the Oasis wall of sound in the early days and he and Owen are an explosive partnership'.

Since his departure from the supergroup six months ago, along with spending time with his family, Bonehead has been building a £500,000 recording studio at his home in Chesire.

Yay! Lookin' forward to it, mate! ;)

What do *you* think about Bonehead going solo? I'll let you have your say in an upcoming poll. Watch for it. In the meantime, vote in the Noel solo poll if you haven't already. Interesting fight going on there and I might leave it for a while yet to get a better sampling.

It is the 19th. There is no interview. Who knows what is going on.

To the right is the supposed cover of "Standing..." It's looking surprisingly similar to the one deemed as fake not too long ago, so we won't hold our breath now, shall we?

You can look at pics like the one at the left as well as read and listen to an interview with Noel and Gem here. This was the Radio One broadcast they did yesterday. Oasis will cover "My Generation" by The Who later this week, hopefully it will be posted on their site or someone will make an .mp3 or something. That was the first song they played after the countdown at the club I was at on New Year's Eve, so that is rather cool. They drew it out of a hat, missing out on doing "Sympathy For The Devil" (Stones), "Come As You Are" (Nirvana), "Angels" (Robbie Williams) and, of course, "Country House" (Blur). I personally voted for "Livin' La Vida Loca (Acoustic)", but alas, it was not chosen... LOL.

The Oasis module is teasing us. It really DID say "Exclusive Liam and Noel interview, January 17" but now it says it is due the 19th. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

"Go Let It Out" *will* be released on Big Brother (Oasis' new label) after all. They are abandoning ship now as I was sure they were going to. The single will be released on February 7th in the UK with no domestic release in North America that I know of. And no, Japan does not get any extra tracks so we can put our yen away and save it for the album which will grace shelves on February 28 in the UK and leap year day (the 29th) in North America.

Meanwhile, by the time that most of you read this, the Oasis Module will have an exclusive interview with Liam and Noel in audio and video (ooo) so don't miss that.

Also, you can kiss the CRESCD catalogue numbers goodbye and welcome RKID001 on the spine of "Go Let It Out". Noel, you cheeky git, you...

Nothing much today other than this bit of hot insider info. The little tune you hear at the beginning of the Oasis module? That is none other than "Gas Panic". I'm sure that this will be all over the internet by midnight but you heard it here first. ;)

In addition, the completely revamped photo gallery of all my personal Oasis pictures - including some you haven't seen - is only days away from being completed. Stay tuned.

January 12/2000
To the right is a sleeve for "Go Let It Out" that I found on the Radio One site. It is different than this one, however they are both official. Either one is North American and one European, one released on Creation and one on Big Brother (unlikely) or most likely the one to the right is a promo copy and the one linked is the sale copy.

There is a new poll for you to check out, it is under the menu to the left. You can view the final results of past polls by clicking on the link under the polling box.

In other news, MTV has started playing the video for "Go Let It Out". That is of course when they're not suing Oasis for alleged breech of copyright because the video begins with a captioning device seemingly lifted from MTV. Rather than listing the artist and song, it says: 'The best videos always make room for big captions'. What is this world coming to when black letters in a white box in a standard font are copyrighted? Give me a break. See DotMusic for more info.

Well, the kids ARE running around naked, fuckin' in the bushes in the Oasis Module. If you haven't yet heard the song - take a listen. The module is to your left above the menu. And yes, your parents should not listen to it as it really does have the big ol' "f-word" in it. Which also leads me to envision the big "Warning: Explicit Lyrics" sticker on the package... ha ha ha! Look at that face. He would NEVER write a song like THAT!

Coming soon to The Meg Matthews Oasis Page... a completely new and re-scanned photo gallery! I don't have an estimated time of completion but I will let you know.

In other news, Noel was recently spotted in Glasgow scouting new talent for his new record label, "Big Brother". Reportedly, the singer in the band he was checking out almost fainted when Noel approached his guitarist with the words "excellent guitaring".

Hello, hello... said it's good to be back...

Happy 2000, everybody. I had a wonderful time in Toronto, listening to all my favourite tunes at Blow Up. I should have some pics up here soon enough.

Well, the Oasis Module sure is rockin' on, I've decided that for ease of use it is best living permanently on top my menu bar to the left. My boyfriend and I have made a cooler graphic for it that matches my site, and I will provide updates here when it changes. On the module now, you can hear the full length versions of "Go Let It Out", both audio AND video. Rumour has it that "Fuckin' In The Bushes" will be posted full length on January 10, but I will keep you posted. Looks the evil empire behind someone's favourite band finally got their **** together and gave something back to us internet *geeks* instead of suing us, hey guys? :)

Canuck News. MuchMusic has started to play "Go Let It Out". The clip that MuchMusic has posted is a lot better quality than the one on the Oasis Module, so "Go CHECK It Out" (lol). No word as to whether MTV is doing the same, e-mail me if you know different. Noel said it is "rubbish" but notice how he is barely in it and the whole thing makes our kid look like the singer/songwriter! Hmmm... I wonder why he doesn't like it - ha ha!

To see the officially confirmed cover for the "Go Let It Out" single, click here. If you've seen this around, don't believe the hype. It is a lovely picture of NYC but it is totally fake.
